• Login details: Logging in to the new Sakai LMS instance will require your current MIS web (ITS) credentials i.e. your staff/student ID and your current PIN. Any change in PIN on the old and archived LMS will not work. You must use the current PIN to login then you can proceed to change your PIN on Sakai.

• URLs for accessing Sakai: While you will be able to access and login to the Sakai LMS instance via its URL https://sakai.ug.edu.gh.  Note that this new version of the Sakai LMS will only contain courses for this current Academic Year and semester i.e. First Semester 2024/2025 Academic Year.

• Access to Archived Data:  The archived Sakai site (https://old-sakai.ug.edu.gh/portal) is available solely for viewing or exporting data to the current system. Additional documentation will be provided with instructions for exporting and importing data.

Non-official Participants Account

Please be informed that user accounts created using the Non-official Participants feature on Sakai course sites will now be automatically disabled. This measure has been implemented to ensure the integrity and security of the UG Sakai LMS system.

Important Details:

• Automatic Disabling: Any accounts created via the Non-official Participants feature will automatically be set to a disabled status. This applies only to accounts added outside the official participant registration process.
• For Instructors: If there is a need for external or temporary access to course materials, please reach out to the Sakai administration team to explore approved alternatives.
• Official Enrollment: We encourage all course instructors to enroll only official participants to ensure uninterrupted access for all necessary users.

Instructors should formally request accounts for individuals they want to add to their course sites.
